           The rainfall for the month was 2.93 inches that fell on 14 days and was a departure of -0.50 inches.
          There was only a trace of frozen precipitation on the 14th that was a snow flurry that was hardly discernible.

    a departure of 1.2 F, which was the 6th highest temp. range on record for February.

    MARCH 2023 SUMMARY
    
    March 2023 - 			Springfield Park, Glen Allen, VA
     March was a little warmer than average but below average precipitation. 
    The mean temperature for March was 49.5 degrees F which was a departure of 0.4 degrees F. 
    Only 9 fourteen-year daily records were recorded for March.
     The 1.55 inches of precipitation for March was a -2.11-inch departure on the 14-year average and 
    the 2nd driest on record and 0.31 inches more than the Airport.
     Springfield Park had 9 days that the minimum temperature was less than or equal to 32°F. 
    The average is 10.7 days. The 81.4 degrees F on the 23rd was the warmest temp. for this month.

    Measurable precipitation occurred on only 8 days which was the second least and the record for April is six. 
    The most precip. in a calendar day this month was 2.01 inches on the 28th which was a new record. 
    The most precip. in a 24-hour period for Apr. was 2.01 inches on the 28th which is the second most; 
    the record is 2.50 inches in 2014.  
    The max. temp. of 52.3 degrees F on the 8th was the lowest max. 
    The month had 6 thunderstorms which tied for the highest number on record for April.

     May’s mean temperature was 64.1 F a -4.2 F departure and the 2nd coolest of 14 Mays on record. 
    Springfield Park had zero 90 F days in May; only the years 2012 and 2020 had no 90 F by the end of May. 
     The average max. temp. was 74.9 F a -3.9 F departure and the average min. was 53.3F a -4.4 F departure.

The mean temp. for May was 64.8 F a -1.9 F dep. which made it the 33rd coolest May on record since 1897. The average maximum for May was 75.5 F a -2.3 F departure.     JUNE 2023 SUMMARY

    Looking at the two graphs for the Airport and Springfield Park both show an abundance of below average temperatures particularly the 20th to the 23rd.

    with 9 days of measurable precipitation. 
            The mean temperature for June was 71.3 F with a -4.7 F departure and was the coolest June on record in the past 14 years. 
    The highest temperature for the month was 89.6 on the 26th and there were 2 days rounded up to equal to 90 F or greater which was a -6.4-day departure.
     There were only 0 days the minimum temperature was equal to or greater than 70°F and the average is 8.6 days.

     The average cloud cover for this June was the highest on record. Much haze this month from wild fires in Canada obscured the sky.
