   1      2230 hrs.    0.8   0.04   31.1   Street is now white. Moderate to heavy snow rate now and flakes are very large aggregates
   2      2300 hrs.    1.5   0.08   30.8   Heavy snow rate --- Flakes are smaller and the temperature continues to fall. Blacksburg received 5 inches of snow before turning to sleet.
   3      2330 hrs.    1.6   0.12   30.9   The heavy snow turned to a light mix of snow and sleet around 2315. Sleet reduces the snow depth by compaction.
   4      2400 hrs.    1.7   0.13   31.1   Mainly light small aggregates of snow mixed with sleet the last half-hour but in the last 5 mins there have been some large flakes of snow mixed in with the sleet. Total snow for today was 1.7 inches with 0.13 inches of liquid. Snow to water equivalent was 13 to 1 but some sleet with snow starting around 2315.
