|0||2055 hrs.||0.0||T||43.0||Precipitation started as rain but by 2110 the rain was mixed with snow. By 2130 the temperature had fallen to 38.3°F and the precipitation was more snow than rain but was melting as it fell.|
|1||2200 hrs.||0.0||0.02||38.5||Currently there is a break in the precipitation. The temperature is too warm for this snow to cause a problem with roads tonight.|
|2||2330 hrs.||Trace||0.10||36.3||Around 2310 to 2315 large flakes are falling as aggregates of many crystals but are melting soon after hitting the ground.|
|3||2400 hrs.||0.1||0.14||34.3||The radar shows the precipitation is very spotty over Virginia but one of the heavier bands of precipitation arrived at the Glen Allen station around 2340. The snow is now falling at a rate faster than it is melting and by 2350 the sky mirror was white with snow and the snowboard showed 0.1 inches of snow but even after this heavy snow only the grass and deck were white. The snow became much lighter at 2355.|
|Jan. 30||0030 hrs.||Trace||0.04||33.8||Even during the last heavy snow band bare ground, roads, and streets had no snow on them as it melted so fast. The snowboard is about 3 inches above the ground so it doesn't melt as fast now only has a little slush on it. The light will be left on the rest of the night but this should be more of a conversational snow than anything else. Very little happened after this observation except an additional 0.01 inches of melted precipitation and the temperature falling to a minimum of 30°F by sunrise.|
