Remarks for the Time Period
0530 hrs.   T    36.9   Rain changed to sleet.
0600 hrs.       34.7   Sleet became a mix of snow and sleet.
0630 hrs.   0.4    32.9   Ground and street is white with a mix of snow and sleet.
0700 hrs.   0.8    32.7   The total storm precipitation at 0745 was 1.36 inches. We had lightning at 0631 and at 0645 this morning. It has been more sleet than snow during the past half hour.
0800 hrs.    1.3     32.5   Precipitation is now all snow and the snowfall rate is moderate. The heater has not yet melted all of the snow in the tripping bucket gauge so the precipitation total is still low. Melted snow in the 8 inch precipitation gauge and the storm total is now 1.49 inches at 0800 hours.
0900 hrs.   2.0    32.1   Precipitation all snow this past hour and snowfall and is falling at a moderate rate.
1000 hrs.   2.6    32.2   Snowfalling intensity was less in the first half of the hour but is now moderate and the wind has increased a gust of 26 mph at 9:55. The storm precipitation total is now about 1.70 inches.
1100 hrs.   3.3    32.9   Heavy snow this past hour. The wind just went to 28 mph. I measured 0.5 inches on the vertical yard fence. The pine trees and evergreen trees are going to cause power outages.
1200 hrs.   3.4    33.8   The maximum snow amount was 3.5 inches between at 1115 and 1130. The current amount is 3.4 inches as the snow rate has decreased and the temperature is now almost 34 °F giving melting and settling. I did a core sample at 1115 and found the 3.5 inches of snow had 0.95 inches of water in it. A very high liquid equivalent ratio of 1 to 3.7 but there was about 0.5 inches of sleet before it became snow. Currently we have only snow flurries.    9      1300 hrs.   3.0    35.2   Still snow flurries but the melting is more than the snow accumulation amounts. The temperature is still rising. The wind has increased to a 34 mph gust at 1209.
1400 hrs.   3.2    33.5  Ok the temperature has fallen and the snowfall rate has increased and we have another 0.2 inches. Thus the snow total is now 3.7 inches and we have wind gust 20 to 30 mph with the max. gust of 34 mph at 1209.
1500 hrs.   3.2    34.1  The temperature has increased again and the snow rate and melting rate are about the same this past hour giving no additional accumulation. Peak wind gust are averaging about 25 to 30 mph.
1600 hrs.   3.0    35.0   Melting is reducing the total with only flurries and very light snow this past hour.
   1700 hrs.   2.9     35.3
1800 hrs.    2.9  2.63  36.5   Light sprinkles this past hour with no snow. The precipitation total includes both rain and frozen precipitation from yesterday's rain of 0.39 inches and today's rain, sleet and snow 2.24 inches.
1900 hrs.   2.8  2.64  36.6   Only a few sprinkles during the past hour.
